Only The Best

Dental crowns in Aurora can restore cracked or broken teeth with a composite resin that is durable and long lasting.

In past years, people could detect right away that you had dental work. Our goal at Retro Dental Group is to provide dentistry that looks and feels like your natural teeth, thus making it undetectable. Dental crowns are one of the ways we can give you a beautiful smile. Where damage to a tooth is extreme and cannot be repaired with a dental filling, we can provide you with a dental crown that will make your smile reappear and be renewed. When a crown is placed, it not only restores your tooth to its normal size, shape and color, it also strengthens it as well. There are many reasons to choose a crown. For example: to protect a weak tooth; cover a dental implant; conceal a misshaped or discolored tooth; support a tooth with a large filling; or restore a broken or cracked tooth.

What Can I Expect When Getting a Crown?

Tooth Crowns in Aurora have never been easier to get. Waterlase technology and the advanced materials in composite resin speed up the process and get you on your way

There are basically three types of crowns to choose from including gold, porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal. The porcelain covered metal crowns prove to be most durable and are placed on back molars where the forces from chewing and grinding are most prevalent. After choosing the type of crown you would like, we will make an impression of your tooth and send it to a lab to make a custom fit crown precisely for you. When you leave our office, after the first visit, you will have a temporary crown to wear, while your permanent crown is custom made. When it’s ready, you will come back in to have the crown permanently cemented in place, and you will go home with a very durable and reliable new natural looking tooth.

"As your doctor, I know your mouth is extremely sensitive and requires extra care after a dental crown procedure. I suggest you avoid sticky or chewy foods (chewing gum or caramels). Chew on the opposite side of your mouth. Avoid chewing hard foods (raw broccoli or carrots) that can break or dislodge the temporary crown. Lastly, when flossing your teeth, do not lift the floss out. Instead, slide it out on the other side of your mouth. Lifting the floss may pull off the temporary crown. If you have any questions or are experiencing abnormal bleeding, swelling, severe pain or any reaction to medications, please do not hesitate to call us. We have someone available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week."
